![]() Stretch goals are planned up to $100,000. The purpose of them is to provide a closer look at SkateBIRD‘s world. Should this stretch goal be funded, the vignettes will be able to be unlocked as players complete objectives and find secrets. “Breadslices of Life” are story vignettes that Fox equates to the “Garbo and Mallory” sequences from Night In the Woods. However, seeing as how SkateBIRD managed to secure funding so fast, Glass Bottom Games founder Megan Fox posted in update, in which she expressed her gratitude, as well as teased the first stretch goal, which she calls “Breadslices of Life.” ![]() Judging by the fact that the campaign has already reached over 110% of its base goal and still has 27 days to go, it’s safe to say that this will be the case. Although, the developer explains that they will look to expand the scope of SkateBIRD depending on how much extra money the campaign earns which, in turn, could push the release date back a bit. Glass Bottom states that the base goal of $20,000 will be enough for them to finish the game. The reason for this comes down to the funding. On that note, however, they do not give a more specific with their release window, nor mention a release date. But Glass Bottom is planning to launch the game a bit earlier than that. The listed rewards (which include a copy of the game for those who donate $15 or more) have a listed date of June 2020. SkateBIRD‘s Kickstarter page promises numerous rewards for donors, including a good amount of physical rewards for those feeling particularly generous.Īs far as when donors and players alike can expect the game to be released, Glass Bottom Games is aiming to get SkateBIRD out the door in either Q1 or early Q2 of 2020. In other words, it shouldn’t be hard for those familiar with the skateboarding genre to get a feel for this new title. Additionally, new tracks (which are significantly different than those in the main soundtrack) are among the secrets to be discovered as you explore the different maps. That being said, players also have the option to import their own MP3 files. As mentioned above, the game features an original “low-fi birb-hop” soundtrack. While the game is called Skate BIRD, it is a departure from the famed Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater series in one major way: the soundtrack. Birds will come check out your park, and maybe even host events! Above all else, skate birds try their best. ![]() You may be tiny, but the more you skate, the more following you get, the more the world of bird skating will open up.
